<Synopsis>
Su-dong (Jo Yong-su) and Ok-rang (Kim Sam-hwa) are engaged. Mu-ryeong (Park Am), a son of Kim, a high government official, has a crush on Ok-rang. He has just come from Hanyang, the former capital city of Korea. Ok-rang's mother, who does not like Su-dong, takes advantage of this opportunity, and with Mu-ryeong's mother, decides on her daughter's marriage with Mu-ryeong. Su-dong's mother (Go Seon-ae) and Ok-rang's father (Kim Seung-ho) let their children secretly get married on an open field, and the newly weds escape to their village. After their honeymoon, they end up being caught by Kim's servants and Su-dong by accident falls over a brink. Ok-rang's father, who discovers that his daughter had been caught by Kim's servants, kills one of the servants and Ok-rang and her father are imprisoned. Mu-ryeong asks for a marriage with Ok-rang in return for covering up the homicide. Ok-rang at last accepts it. Mu-ryeong takes her home when she is discharged from prison. Su-dong, who chased after them, tries to kill Mu-ryeong. But when Ok-rang says she wants to marry Mu-ryeong, he becomes hopeless, and kills himself at home. Su-dong's mother and uncle bury him next to the road where Ok-rang's marriage coach passes by. As the coach passes the grave, all the people's their feet become stuck in the ground. Su-dong's mother stops the coach, and stabs Ok-rang. Ok-rang crawls to Su-dong's grave and dies there.

<Synopsis>
Myeong-ho (Hwang Hae), a middle school teacher who had grown up in poverty, and Bu-nam (Yang Hun), the first son of the president of a trading company, attend the same university. A doctor suggests that Bu-nam, who is sick due to overeating, and Myeong-ho, who suffers from malnutrition, should switch life styles for two weeks. While living in each other's house, they fall in love with each other's younger sister and get married at a joint wedding ceremony.

<Synopsis>
On the eighth of April of King Gyoeng-deok's 10th year of reign of the Unified Silla Period, Guseulagi (Choi Eun-hee), a daughter of Yu Jong, joins the king's parade to Bulguksa Temple, where she meets a stonemason named Asadal (Gwak Geon) from Buyeo. Having a crush on him, she visits Sakyamuni Pagoda, a masonic site; only to find that Asadal had broken down from exhaustion. While she takes care of him, her love for him grows. But Asadal misses his wife who is waiting for him in Buyeo. Meanwhile, Geum Seong who has a crush on Guseulagi, asks his father, Geum Ji, to propose on behalf of him. But Yu Jong is so dissatisfied with Geum Ji because he is a treacherous subject, that he turns down the proposal, instead hurrying up his daughter's marriage with Gyeongsin, a faithful subject. Asanyeo who has been waiting for her husband Asadal in Buyeo, goes to Bulguksa Temple after her father-in-law had died. A janitor refuses to allow her in, because he fears she might interrupt Asadal's work. Instead, he tells her to wait for her husband at a pond where the shadow of the pagoda is reflected on a clear day, until the pagoda is completed. Out of despair, thinking that Asadal has changed his mind, Asanyeo commits suicide by throwing herself at the shadow on the pond. Later, on hearing the news, Asadal loses his mind and throws himself into the pond, as well. Guseulagi is burnt alive on a charge of falling in love with a common person. Geum Ji makes up the plot to take revenge, because he bears a grudge against her for turning down his proposal.

<Synopsis>
Seong-hui (Ju Jeung-nyeo), wife of diplomat Baek Sang-ho(No Neung-geol), shoots at Yeong-suk (Choe Eun-hui) and is arrested by the police. The media report it is prompted by a love triangle and a prosecutor (Park Gyeong-ju) starts to interrogate Yeong-suk. Misunderstood that his wife has cheated him, Baek Sang-ho tries to divorce and Yeong-suk begins to tell him and the prosecutor about her past. When Yeong-suk was dating a loser of a guy named Sang-geun, she became pregnant, and asked for the advice of her half-sister Seong-hui. Yeong-suk ended up giving her child to Seong-hui, who was unable to have children of her own. Seong-hui pretended to be the true mother of the child, and Sang-ho, absent when the clandestine exchange was made, has no idea of the truth. A few years later, Sang-geun returns from Japan and demand one million won from Yeong-suk. She asks Seong-hui for help and Seong-hui promises to have the money ready by selling her jewelries. Since then Yeong-suk begins to frequently drop by Seong-hui's home again and she naturally comes to terms with her son Sik-i. Yeong-suk regrets having given her son and demands that her baby be returned to her, but Seong-hui stubbornly refuses. Yeong-suk then threatens to tell Sang-ho the truth, and heads for his workplace to do so. Seong-hui follows her and fires a shot at her. After Yeong-suk tells the prosecutor the truth, she pleads with him to release her half-sister, and Seong-hui is set free. She finally permits Yeong-suk to live with her child. But Yeong-suk sees that her child really loves Seong-hui, and she leaves with her fiance Myeong-cheol, giving up her child to her half-sister once again.

<Synopsis>
Dr. Nam, in his will, requests that his eldest daughter, Jeong-hui(Choe Eun-hui), marry a painter named Dong-su (Won Nam-gung). Jeong-hui is at risk of losing her house due to her father's debt, and a young physician Sun-cheol (Kim Seok-hun) who received his college education with the financial support of Dr. Nam, helps her by selling his own house. Despite his love for her, Sun-cheol cannot express his feelings because he knows of the request in her father's will. When Jeong-hui looks for a job to support her family, Bang, whom Dr. Nam once cured, offers her a position of saloon madam. Meanwhile, her younger sister Myeong-hui (Choe Ji-hui) promises Dong-su her hand in marriage. Jeong-hui, now running the saloon, wishes them happiness. It is only when she gets a proposal from Bang and decides to accept it that Sun-cheol confesses his love for her. Moved by Sun-cheol's true affection for her, Bang gives her up, and Sun-cheol and Jeong-hui exchange vows of marriage.

<Synopsis>
Mr. Park raises his children by repairing charcoal pits. Although ignorant and stubborn, Mr. Park has a good heart. He is displeased, however, with his eldest daughter, Yong-sun (Jo Mi-ryeong), because of her close relationship with Jae-cheon (Hwang hae), who is a scamp in his eyes. He is also unsatisfied with his second daughter, Myeong-sun (Eom Aeng-ran), for liking Ju-sik (Bang Su-il). Only his eldest son, Yong-beom (Kim Jin-gyu), is the apple of his eye, as he approves of his son's wife, Jeom-rye (Kim Hye-jeong). When Yong-beom is sent to a foreign branch office, Mr. Park is against it at first but approves of it, as he knows what it means for his son's future. Eventually, too, he begins to approve of his two daughters' relationships.

<Synopsis>
A man cannot stand poverty any more. He disappears, leaving a young daughter at home. Twenty years later, he comes back home as a rich man to see his daughter again. But a band of villains kidnaps his daughter for ransom. They know he's discovered a bonanza of wealth. But the police arrest the villains, and he dreams a happy future with his daughter.

A professor's wife, O Seon-yeong (Kim Jeung-rim), starts working at a boutique shop. She meets Choe Yun-ju (No Gyung-hui) and goes to a dance party. She happens to like Sin Chun-ho (Lee Min), so she learns dancing from the next-door neighbor. Meanwhile, professor Jang (Park Am) is attracted to his student (Yang Mi-hui), who works as a typist. But he does not want to ruin his family while waiting for his wife to come home. In the end O realizes her mistake and comes back home with regret.
