Review: Gabi, 2012

The title, Gabi, is the old pronunciation of Coffee. It is going back to the era of the last Chosun King Gojong, he escaped to the Russian Embassy from the threat of Japan. One beautiful barista infiltrated the Embassy to kill Gojong.

The director is Yun-hyun JANG, who was famous for his debut film The Contact (1997).  His last film was a disaster, Hwang Jin Yi (2007). And Gabi is too.

Acting and story are not bad, but the film is sucks. If a director decide to make a film based on history, sort of reality or probability is the vital factor. He missed it. I am sorry to say this, it seems to be his last film....

Nowadays, cruel investors never give a chance to the director who results in box office failure.
